The sports sector’s aim is for students to attend different sports pursuits as sports days and events. The trend is towards the development of various leisure activities, to provide school and personal life balance. Without the stimulus of exercise offered, school and life can begin to feel excessively tedious. Exercise is also known to refresh mind and body and helps to improve the quality of life.

In Skinnarila Campus all sports activities are now under SaLUT.

SaLUT is a joint project of Saimaa University of Applied Sciences and Lappeenranta University of Technology. The aim is to promote and support the students' well-being and coping during studies. SaLUT includes a wide range of sports and welfare services as well as organize a variety of demo classes and events. Activities are designed to promote students' health and create cohesiveness between different training programs and higher education institutions.
